It is estimated that worldwide about 1 in 100 children has autism *. This estimate represents an average figure, and there is significant variation in reported prevalence among different studies. However, certain well-conducted research has documented significantly elevated numbers. The occurrence of autism is not known in many low- and middle-income countries.

What steps should be taken if a child is diagnosed with special needs early on?
Upon diagnosis, early intervention should be prioritized, with a focus on providing education, medical care, and emotional support. This may include tailored therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy based on the individual needs.
